The 3rd Samarkand Spring School for Young Psychiatrists and Addiction Specialists was held at Samarkand State Medical University on 8–12 April 2026. The event was organised with the participation of the Uzbekistan Psychiatric Association, the Republican Specialised Scientific and Practical Medical Centre for Mental Health, Samarkand State Medical University and Tashkent State Medical University, with support from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Psychiatric Association.
The School welcomed 142 young psychiatrists and addiction specialists from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. More than 45 teachers and experts from Belarus, France, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, the United States and Uzbekistan contributed to the programme.
The programme included lectures, workshops, clinical case discussions, scientific debates and professional networking. Particular attention was given to clinical reasoning, research skills and international cooperation among early-career specialists.
